Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes (or 1 bag frozen fries)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella, or a mix)
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Oil for frying (if making fries from scratch)
Instructions
- Prepare fries: Peel and cut potatoes into fries (or use frozen). Fry in hot oil until golden and crispy, then drain on paper towels. Season with salt.
- Cook bacon: In a skillet, cook bacon until crispy. Drain and crumble into pieces.
- Make cheese sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter. Add flour and whisk for 1 minute. Slowly add milk while whisking to avoid lumps. Stir in cheese until melted and creamy. Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Assemble: Place fries on a serving dish. Pour cheese sauce over the fries. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon and fresh parsley.
- Serve hot: Enjoy immediately while gooey and melty!
