Powdered Sugar Cookies Recipe
These Powdered Sugar Cookies are soft, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Coated with a dusting of powdered sugar, they make for a perfect sweet treat for any occasion.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for the dough)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling the cookies)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Mix the dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and 1/4 cup powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix until incorporated.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until the dough comes together. The dough should be soft but not sticky.
- Shape the cookies:
- Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Leave a little space between each cookie as they will slightly expand during baking.
- Bake:
- Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The center should remain soft.
- Cool and coat with powdered sugar:
- Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer them to a cooling rack.
- Once the cookies are still warm but not hot, roll them in the powdered sugar until well coated.
- Serve:
- Let the cookies cool completely before serving. They are best enjoyed with a cup of tea or coffee.
These Powdered Sugar Cookies are light, sweet, and just the right amount of indulgence. Enjoy!
